Hope Slaven and Austin Sturza
Hope Slaven
Onalaska High School Class of 2026
“When challenges arise, Hope approaches them thoughtfully, asking relevant questions, and working through problems step by step.”
Equity is about the daily choice to listen carefully, to understand experiences different from our own, and to help create spaces where every person feels seen. The ability to approach challenges thoughtfully, with curiosity rather than judgment, is one of the most important qualities a person can bring into their community.
Hope has demonstrated those qualities. She has shown a willingness to engage with others with compassion. Those actions, even the small ones, are what build stronger schools, stronger communities, and a more equitable world.
Austin Sturza
Onalaska High School Class of 2026
Equity is more than individual success - it is also about how we support the people and communities around us. Austin has demonstrated that through his commitment to academics, athletics, and service. Austin consistently shows up for others. Whether helping with school events, clothing drives, or supporting his peers and community without needing to be asked, he demonstrates leadership through action.
Congratulations, Austin. We are proud to support your continued education and future goals.
